The three day festival will kick off with a pre-event on the 11th and 12th November 2014. A dance and music workshop for schools and art enthusiasts will be held at the Goodman Arts Centre, Dance Studio.
Regional participation for this year's MUARA FESTIVAL includes dancers and musicians from Indonesia and Malaysia. We are pleased to have University of Malaya (UM) Cultural Centre Malay dance troupe, SMKN8 Surakarta and Sri Gemilang Pekan Baru to join us in this year’s MUARA FESTIVAL, alongside local groups like Sriwana, Azpirasi, Perkumpulan Seni, Kirana Seni dan Persadaku Artiste Seni Budaya. You will enjoy an array of traditional and creative dances on the first and third night, where as the second night will present a night of contemporary Malay dances and many more.
In its 4th year, the MUARA Festival has established itself as one of the region's regular installations where dance practitioners converge and have regular exchanges on their craft. It is an opportunity for the community to come together and learn about the Malay culture, as well as understand and appreciate the various Malay art forms.
MUARA FESTIVAL 2014 is presented by Era Dance Theatre in collaboration with National Arts Council and Esplanade – Theatres on The Bay.
